Colombia Insists that It Will Implement Electronic Voting in 2014


The South American country insisted this week that it will be implementing e-voting in two years. As he reiterated this promise, Home Minister Germán Vargas Lleras stated that “electronic voting makes fraud practically impossible, avoids human error, reduces the high risk associated with the transport of electoral matierial, and speeds up the whole process: voting, scrutiny, and obviously, the announcement of results.” Colombia is finally assuming the challenge of automating its elections.
