Peru bets on electronic voting for 2016


For years, Peru has tried to encourage the adoption of electoral automation. Although the National Office of Electoral Processes (ONPE) has pointed out that it is prepared to take on the responsibility of implementing electronic voting—they already have designed the voting machines—, the electoral office lacks the budget to implement it; and it’s counting that for 2016 will come up with the resources needed to modernize the voting platform in the South American country.
